Malvern Coffee Co. is a locally-owned coffee brand based in Malvern, PA, with a mission to bring people together through high-quality, locally roasted coffee. Their vision extends beyond the cup — they aim to create a social hub where community, connection, and lifestyle intersect. I had the privilege of partnering with Malvern Coffee Co. to develop a comprehensive brand strategy, cohesive visual identity, and product packaging that reflects the essence of this vision.

We kicked things off with a deep dive into the world of Malvern — aka, the land of charming and historical streets, community pride, and a noticeable lack of locally roasted coffee. The strategy we developed was all about positioning Malvern Coffee Co. as the heartbeat of the community: warm, authentic, and the first place people think of when planning a coffee date or a low-key work session.

With the strategy in place, we moved into the brand identity development. The visual identity features a versatile logo suite that adapts seamlessly across digital and physical touchpoints. The color palette blends warm, inviting tones with fresh, modern accents to convey the brand's personable and lively nature. Typography choices were carefully selected to balance approachability with sophistication, ensuring the brand feels contemporary yet timeless. On top of these key details, I created custom illustrations that echoed the town’s vibrant history and intertwined it with Malvern’s present. It was these extra details that really sought to create a deep connection between Malvern Coffee Company and the Malvern community.

The final stage was the product packaging design, where we brought the brand’s story to life on every bag of coffee. The packaging highlights the coffee’s origins while maintaining a consistent, recognizable brand presence on the shelf. From logo placement to color application, each element was designed to reflect Malvern Coffee Co.'s mission of delivering not just exceptional coffee but also a sense of belonging.

The result is a brand that feels like a natural extension of the Malvern community — warm, authentic, and full of character.
